In Latin, “margarita” (English daisy) means “pearl”.
In Matthew, chapter 7, verse 6 he says: “nolite dare sanctum canibus neque mittatis margaritas vestras ante porcos ne forte conculcent eas pedibus suis et conversi disrumpant vos”. It means “Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.”
The pearl metaphor as something really valuable that never could be appreciated by an ignorant stupid with only animal instincts is much more ancient than the Gospel and nowadays is still used with that meaning.
I am a pearl, everybody is, but some of them are in the early stages of growth. Moreover, they don’t know how to appreciate what we can offer due to their own limitations and insecurities, so they turn on you and they tear you in pieces. And this is what this blog is about. Of how a “pearl” fights after being trampled and torn, fights to pick up all the pieces and fix them together and start shining again.
As I mention at the “Home” page, if we want to achieve our greatest expression, the seed that we are, the shell which gives us shelter must be broken, to allow something greater to come out, to grow, our real self, what we really and deeply are, the core. Although most of the times this comes after strongly painful situations, we need to understand and accept that it is very important for it to happen if we really desire to grow.
No seed will mature if unbroken.
